Hi,

I was wondering what some of the good, lesser-known ob/gyn programs are? I've looked through scutwork, but does anyone have any recommendations about places we (2005 match) should check out?

Depends on what you are looking for, heavy in OB, heavy in Gyn, highly academic, and on what area of the country you are talking about.

I'm not asking for something specific. Someone that knows a program that is good in OB might post and say, "I know of this program,_________, that (looked really great/I had a wonderful elective at/etc.). They seem to be very strong in (OB/GYN/MFM research). The residents really enjoy working there. You might want to check it out."

I'm just an M4, but...

You should check out MCV/VCU in Richmond, Virginia. I did my rotation here this year and I enjoyed it. They have a attending that does a lot of urogyn. The MFM attendings are awesome. One ob-gyn attending does a lot of international work. The department is family-friendly (three residents had babies last year).

Richmond has a good cost of living and there is a lot to do here.
