Did any Mainers apply to NECOM through the FAME program?

I don't want to practice their definition of primary care, but i do want to practice in Maine. I'm just wondering if I would be better off applying through FAME anyway, or trying my hand with the national applicant pool. THanks.

Sorry for my ignorance... what is the FAME program?
Thanks.

FAME = Finance Athority of Maine

There is a program called Access that works with UNE, Dartmouth and University of Vermont Medical College, and there are loan programs for residents who plan to practice in Maine, esp. in primary care.

Sarah - check your pm's!

I don't know about the fame program, but I do know that out of 41 maine applicants for this years class, 22 were accepted. Thats like 53% acceptance. That tells me that if you have a strong application, and are from maine, you are a shoe in.
