Did anyone actually have a "good" interview experience?

I'm asking, cuz it just sounded like a lot of people had a bad experience at the Albert Einstein interview. Supposedly they do "stress" interviews, right? Well, I have an interview there next week... and I thought I'd ask... Thanks!

my msu interview was awesome.

i am assuming from what i hear and read that the vermont and davis interviews that i have upcoming are going to be good too.

just be yourself. relax, and be honest. if they don't like it, it's their own fault, and you deserve better. it may sound weird, but it's true.....be confident, and you can't go wrong.

I believe only a couple of interviewers at Einstein do stress interviews. My interviewer was a OB/GYN and she was really nice. We had a nice chat about Albert Einstein and just medical school in general.

I'm not sure if it is policy there or what, but most of the feedback results on the sdn site say the interviews are very low pressure. To me it seemed like most people there were really (genuinely) happy, the med students and the instructors. To quote one of the current students "Einstein is a good first place to interview", I think he meant that it kind of eases you into the process with conversation rather than interrogation.

Einstein was one of the most awesome interview experiences i had. It was extremely low stress and the discussion came to very interesting subjects.

Good luck!

Thanks, guys.

I know AE's gonna ask this question, "Why Albert Einstein?" Well, other than the fact that the students seem really happy there and it's in nyc... I can't think of any other reasons... I'm interviewing at two other schools in nyc in the same week, but I definitely wouldn't choose AE over those two schools... man, so "why AE?"

because he invented the theory of relativity.

"Why AE"

AE is associated with a great hospital

AE is known to have plenty of intl opportunities

AE is in New York (you can tell him that you want to live in NYC)

AE has a very active student body (do a bit of research and look up groups that you may want to be a part of - then explain).

Incidentally, the one interview I've walked out of not feeling entirely confident that things went well (I've been very lucky!) was Albert Einstein.

My interviewer simply asked me to talk about myself, with no real direction. He would ask me questions about what I was saying, on occasion, but that was about it. It got pretty hard to think of new and interesting topics when the conversation got stagnant.

AE pays for 75% of an economy class airticket for people to do clinical rotations abroad during their 4th year.

Bronx's living expense is reasonable yet there is a bus that goes from the entrance to the student dorms to the middle of Manhattan

(Can apply to other NYC schools) NYC provides a ethnically diverse population. AE's population is, I think, mostly underserved hispanic and africans.

During my AE interview we talked about all shorts of things. One of my best friends who is gay took me to an event and we watched 2 documentaries. "Trembling before G-d" and "Paragraph n.???". They one had to do with gay orthodox jews and the other with gay people in concentration camps during the Nazi era in Germany and France. So my interviewer and i talked about it. It was a very interesting discussion.

Don't forget that Einstein is in a "bad part" of the Bronx. Few years ago, they had to petition the police dept to put more cops there because their cars kept getting jacked! It's gotton better, but just stay near Einstein campus and your safe. It's kinda like that game we used to play as kids - Stay in base!
