I ask this because I am got in after 3 years. I want to knowhow you dealt with it. Specifically, I am still going to be in the same town (i went to Auburn for my undergrad and now vet school). I am worried about balancing my friends from undergrad with my fellow classmates. In general though, if you have any advice or anything you wished you would have done after only having 3 years in college before vet school, i would like to hear it.

I have my BS, but there are several people who don't have theirs in my class. Several of those people did go to Mizzou for undergrad as well and they seem to handle it fine, if not maybe a little better. It's always nice to have some people to catch up with that aren't the same people you see for 8-10 hours a day! Other than that, I will leave it for someone else to give more specific advice. Good luck! AU was an awesome school!

I only did 3 years of undergrad, but I have my BS. I didn't have any problem with the transition. Not sure about the balancing of friends, I did my undergrad in Ky and am in Pa for vet school. It might be difficult for them to understand all the work and studying you need to do while they are off enjoying senior year, but just make sure you make boundaries and just because you have friends in town, make sure you bond with your classmates, especially in the beginning.

Hey there. I also did 3 years of undergrad and didn't have a bs at the beginning of vet school, but am getting it soon (1 week and counting!). I don't think it makes a difference at all as far as "adjusting." I go to Mizzou but am from Pennsylvania so I know absolutely no one from undergrad, some of my friends here still hang out with their undergrad buddies at least monthly. My only advise would be to not get a complex about having or not having a degree - I know that I have had more than one person say that it is "unfair" for me to get a degree with only having done 3 years of undergrad -just don't take it personally if people get huffy about it. Anyways, most people couldn't care less, it's really not an issue that comes up regularly if at all. Just be glad you have one less year of tuition to pay 🙂

wow, that's really not fair of them to say at all. i busted my a** (and Im sure you did too!) to get my graduation requirements and prereqs for vet school done in 3 years.

I graduated in three years also (technically I am walking this spring so I could graduate with my friends). I also did my undergrad at the same place as vet school. It definitely isn't an issue. I made plenty of friends in vet school, and I've kept my friendships with my senior friends. It is great to have people to go out with who aren't in vet school, but I also adore my friends. While I do get the occasional (it seems like always around test time) text message to go out on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and people don't understand why I'm busy, it is quite manageable. Though I do get jealous of all of my undergrad friends that have amazing schedules this quarter - I really liked having them here for my first year of school.

I got into vet school for this fall after finishing my prereqs in three years. I won't have a degree. I'm a little worried about not having micro and physiology, however, I am really excited and I'm gonna give it my all.
:luck:Best of luck!!:luck:

I was accepted after 4 years but without a degree. I changed majors and transferred universities after my 2nd year so even though I have plenty of hours for a BS I don't quite have all the requirements. My undergrad university said that they will give me my degree after one quarter in vet school.
