Did anyone JUST take their MCATs???

Hey everyone,

I just signed up for thiss site. Looks amazing 🙂

Just wanted to know if anyone JUST took their MCATs (like within the past month or two) and what they thought of it... How was it compared to Kaplan FL or AAMC practice tests? Which would you say was harder or more similar? I just want to get an idea of it. I will be taking it within a month and want to know what to expect.

There are threads for each of the MCAT test dates within the last several months on the first page of this forum with thoughts on what people thought of it as well as some information on the specific passages. Anyways, I took the 4/23 MCAT, did Kaplan and AAMC FLs and found that the AAMC FL's were far easier than the actual MCAT. The science was much closer in level of difficulty to the Kaplan FL's. In fact, there was a really strange Physics passage on the real thing that was almost exactly the same as a Kaplan physics passage I had done which helped A LOT cause I wouldn't have understood any of it had I not done one in the Kaplan test.

As for verbal, the difficulty of the verbal passages were much like the AAMC passages except they were longer.

General impression from 4/10 MCAT: PS-heavy calculations, more abstract questions, overall a bit harder than the aamcs, VR- similar to AAMCs in difficulty but much longer passages, BS- required much more specific knowledge than any of the AAMCs, very little ochem but the one ochem passage was pretty hard, and the section itself was very challenging. Can't comment on other test days.
