I feel like Sandy pushed back their timeline. On their original application complete email, they said they will start sending snail mail mid-November. Just wondering if anyone recieved it yet? If not, I guess I will continue holding my breath each time I go get the mail and will continue to pray for the phone call 🙂

Do you have any research experience?

Tons. I researched with 3 of my professors. I 😍 research with a passion. Then again, my application was sent out until 9/28.

Harvard gives phone calls for interview invites followed by an email. They interview through January, I believe.

How many hours is "tons"?

nevermind

Whatever, I guess I have to wait. Thanks for your input Zbtb7.

They tend to hold back on Dec 3rd acceptances and save their seat until they're done interviewing (to January-ish).

Wow, that is different. So, do you plan to put a deposit for a different school if you don't hear back until January?

The way it looks now, the deposits are going to be my christmas and birthday presents for the next four years

Yeah, most schools' deposits are pricey. But the deposit is a small price to pay if Harvard gives you a later acceptance...

They interview through February. I have a friend who interviewed there in February last year and was accepted.

Hope has been restored. Now, I just need to survive this week's mail delivery.

I wouldn't call that tons...

Me either. Especially on a per hour basis that isn't a lot at all. (100 hours in 1 semester? Thats only about 6.5 hours per week)

How are you guys planning rooming arrangements and travel... kinda clueless about the place cause I'm from socal lol. so it's a pretty big jump for me...

harvard didn't ask me about my research experience during my interview last week. i prepared (by reading some of my PI's articles) and even tried to prompt them to ask me about my research, but they never did. they seemed to be more interested in my comm. service, EC's, and church activities. is this bad news?

They told me at my interview that Harvard does not require a deposit after your accepted.

EDIT: I was only asked about my research because my PI went there.

Harvard doesn't charge for a deposit. I was referring to having to put down a deposit at another school on Dec 3rd if Harvard waitlists you. If Harvard gives a later acceptance, you would lose that deposit money.

That's assuming Harvard is your #1 choice 😉

Yeah I've only just started research this year and I didn't get asked about it at all at my interview. I was asked almost exclusively about my volunteer work trips, class load (18+ credits every semester hah) and my job as an RA. Honestly no one should be holding out for an interview invite here, I wasn't as impressed with Harvard as I was at other schools. It probably put me off that they spelled my name wrong on my name tag too!

Did you apply to Columbia? I went there already and was extremely impressed. I love the idea of a legacy and how the students were. I could sense that the med school students didn't really care much for the dental students but nevertheless, I felt like a tween at a Beber concert during the entire day. It was incredible

Got the snail mail today! My bf made me throw it away and agree that I didn't want their overpriced education anyway lol.
