Did I miss the memo that said "more activities = better applicant"?

I was finishing a secondary today and stumbled onto this:

Provide a history of your activities from the time you completed high school to the present. You must span the past three years, more is better.
Only in medical school applications. I never knew that if I had 15 activities instead of 8 that I would be considered a better applicant.

It's almost like someone decided, there are too many nerds getting in with great GPAs and MCATs, we need to shake up this system and see how much $h*t we can make them juggle.

It reminds me of fraternity hazing.

In what job application is LESS considered better?

Besides, they're saying you should be all-inclusive. Don't leave stuff out, and be descriptive.

I interpret that as the more years you choose to cover, the better it is. So if you detail your activities earlier than 3 years ago, it is better. I don't think they are insinuating quantity of activities > quality

This is how I read the prompt, too.

I think you're reading mustache-twirling malice into the prompt because you're frazzled, broseph stalin. Kick back and take a breather.

They mean more details on as many years as you can remember I would guess. It makes no sense for them to randomly just say "Oh, and btw more activities means you are better." Clearly, they are trying to encourage people to not be shy on giving a long list of everything they can think of.

Don't you already list this stuff on the primary? What's the point of doing it again?
