Ok, so I was hoping someone might be able to explain to me whether or not this may have had any impact on my failure to be accepted to any of the TX schools. I had 4 interviews (Tech, Houston, A&M, and SA). Under the "colleges and coursework" tab on the TMDSAS application, when you have to enter in all your classes and courses, I only entered the classes I had completed and currently taking. I never entered the planned ones in the future and the "detailed instructions" say its important to enter planned classes all the way up to summer 2010 and not just ones you have completed. I also never noticed there was a little check box that you click that reads "All Planned and Completed Coursework Entered". I didn't notice this little box until 2 weeks before the match day. I never got a prematch offer and did not match anywhere. I am literally the only person I know who got interviews and did not get in anywhere at all.

Could anyone tell me if my own stupidity by not entering PLANNED courses as well as completed and never checking that stupid little box may have cost me admission this year????

🙁

Ask them!

I sincerely doubt that would have affected you being accepted or rejected to any medical school. In fact I doubt they really look at courses you have planned after you are offered an interview. If this aspect of your application would have affected anything, you probably would not have gotten interviews to begin with. Also, people can put anything in the planned coursework section, so they don't even take that area very seriously because it is subject to change. Don't make a big deal about that, it's pretty insignificant. All you can do is hope for the best - the waitlists often have great results! Best of luck.

I have also ignored that and I am doing just fine.

I dunno if I just suck at interviews or what then if its workin out for yall. The second guy at my HOUSTON interview even ended the interview by sayin "I think you'd make a great fit here"....then no match. 🙁

Don't you still have some time left until the application cycle is over?

Just wait and hope for the best!

i have to speak up and say that many people (myself included) had multiple interviews yet still did not match. believe it or not, it happens.

Agreed, I'm in the same boat - interviews, no prematch, and now no match.

Try to stay positive though. I just got a waitlist e-mail today, and you should be hearing about waitlists soon too 🙂

I wouldn't stress too much... I'm sure plenty of people plan to take courses that they never actually take for one reason or another (class fills up before they register, decide to graduate early, they drop a class and have to retake it meaning they can take one less class than they planned, etc). As such, the planned courses they submit end up being inaccurate. Really, if anything, it's just to give med school an idea..... but I doubt it matters that much in the application process. Especially since you got interviews w/o that info!

Attend UTH reapp workshop and in a month or so, call and ask to see if you can speak with the adcoms about your app and what went wrong and right this time around 🙂

Take advantage of the admissions people; they're there to help you!👍
