Did not receive my unofficial score report

I took the DAT yesterday (8-9-12) at a Prometric center, but after I finished my last math problem and the test timed out, the whole program just closed and didn't show any unofficial scores. The test center supervisor couldn't bring it back up on the computer or get them to print out. He gave me (and three other test-takers with the same problem) a candidate ID# and a ticket# and told us to call Prometric. I called several times and even talked to a supervisor but was told they did not have my scores and to contact ADA for my scores. I called ADA several times and was told that they do not receive any scores for 2-3 weeks. I eventually talked to a manager at ADA who told me they do get a file (not after 2-3 weeks) but they cannot open it up to see any scores and that I had to wait 2 weeks before they can give me scores. I was told to send a fax with my information and that they would postal mail my score report in 2 weeks after my scores have been processed.

I was supposed to send a copy of my unofficial score report to my in-state school today, but that is not going to happen. In addition, I don't even know how I did, so I don't know if I need to schedule for a retake in three months. I'm not even sure if ADA received any file with my scores at all.

I have no idea what to do. From what I've learned, I have to just wait out the two weeks to find out how I did, or if my scores even made it to ADA.

Any advice or help with this issue would be much appreciated. I'm just really depressed and lost right now.🙁

Wow. If this happened to me, I would be right there with on the depression / anxious train. From the looks of it, it didn't seem as if you were doubting your performance, so I'm thinking you're going to be fine.I hope your scores are everything you want them to be.

Just pretend that you took the MCAT instead, haha. I think it takes them three weeks to get a score after test day.

But in all seriousness, that's rough. Maybe you can get your test fee money back if nothing else? Part of the process is getting your scores, and now you don't have them and don't know how you did. I'm not one to complain but maybe you'll get 360 bucks out of the deal? Haha.

When I took my DAT in July.....after I finished BIO, GC, OC, the computer froze...and obviously I freaked out and called the supervisor. She had to restart the computer...and thank god I was able to get back to where I left off....I was freaking out b/c I thought I had to redo the whole natural science portion of the test!!!!

So, the scores are supposed to show up immediately after you complete the test? I didn't know that. Well you have to wait 2-4 weeks until AADSAS recieves them and as far as rescheduling your test, you have to wait 3 months and scheduling a test date can be done within 1 week of the desired test date. I hope you did well. My prayers are with you, I understand how important this is to you. I am taking my first exam on the 20th I really hope I do well!

The same thing happened to me and I am absolutely LIVID. Initially the person I spoke to at Prometric told me I would find out the next day and when I called the following morning Prometric said they didn't have my scores. I then talked to a woman named Cindy Willet from the ADA who told me I would find out in 2-3 days. That didn't happen either. I know exactly how you feel right now- I've never felt so hopeless.

And what's worse is that the Prometric staff tried to play it off as if I really wasn't supposed to receive my scores after I finished the test. When I left the computer room and asked them where my print out was they flipped to a random page in some binder and was like according to this handbook you are only supposed to find out your scores after the ADA sends you a letter in the mail. I was like "I know as a fact that I am supposed to receive my scores right after" and they basically just shut me down on the spot. I still can't believe their lack of professionalism.

Can you let the schools know if what happened? They will know that hou took it and testing center loosed your scores.

Chippy, I'm sorry you are going through the same thing I am. I believe I've talked to Cindy as well. Everyone that I've talked to has been quite rude and, frankly, quite unprofessional. I have decided to wait out the 2 weeks and find out if they even have my scores. If they do not, then I will probably take serious legal actions. Let me know how your situation goes, Chippy. I'll update when I find out more.

I finally got my unofficial score report!!! I sent a fax with my information to ADA, and after one week, I received my scores in the mail. I'm so happy I got my scores, and that I will not have to take the DAT again. Whew!

Here are my scores:

PAT 24 (98.0%)
QR 19 (92.9%)
RC 20 (78.5%)
BIO 19 (83.5%)
GC 22 (95.2%)
OC 23 (97.1%)
TS 21 (96.2%)
AA 21 (97.2%)
