I've been thinking of tweeky my ROL based upon program didactics. Some have a lot, same have a little, others segregate based upon resident year, others have rotating curriculums for the whole program or just some of the years. Lots of variability.

Residents/Attendings: How important would you say your weekly didactic sessions are/were in shaping your clinical acumen? Are there any particular setups I should be ranking higher?

I would imagine that didactics should probably be #32 on your list of things to worry about. Think about your M3 rotations, and how important your lectures were to your overall learning experience. In general, some really good lectures probably stick out and were useful, but most of them were probably dwarfed by your clinical experience.

value of the content of didactics - variable

value of being in a program with faculty dedicated enough to education to actually give them - priceless

Aside from that, I found didactics an excellent time to hear viewpoints from my fellow residents on treatment options (especially valuable in PGY-3 and 4). Hearing differing perspectives from 15 colleagues with clinical foci spanning psychoanalysis, DBT, neuroimaging, psychosomatics, etc. was a major contibutor to my avowedly eclectic practice style.
