Ok, so I just want to clarify if I'm getting the differences right. Dieckmann is when you have a diester and you do an intramolecular reaction to form a ring by removing one alpha hydrogen and one ester? Claisen condensation is similar, but it forms two esters linked together instead of a ring? Saponification is when you have an ester or lactone using OH-/H2O to essentially cut the ester and form a carboxy acid and an alcohol??

😕
