difference between deltaH, deltaE, and q?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i'm not really getting the relationship these concepts have to each other, anyone care to explain it to me? 🙂
Delta H and q are the same assuming constant PRESSURE. Delta E is reserved for internal energy, and is the sum of the heat at constant pressure, hence we use q.....and the work done. For your purposes, use delta H and q interchangeably. For a nice discussion on this, Brown and LeMay General text does a nice job, as well as David Klein Organic Chemistry.

Hope this helps.
