I have that humoral involves antibodies and B cells. B cells detect antigens in blood and as a result produce plasma cells that release antibodies, which will target the antigen for destruction by phagocytes. Memory cells are also produced an serve to enact the 2ndary immune response the next time the body is exposed to this antigen. The antibodies attack the antigen via agglutinization, lysis, neutralization, etc.
Am I missing anything with humoral?

In regards to Cell mediated, all I know is that this response occurs when the antigen (virus, bacteria, w/e) has entered one of our cells. Our cells present the antigen on its membrane and cytotoxic T cells lyse the cell and secrete factors that call over macrophages to engulf the infected cell. Now when do the helper T cells come in? does plasma cell formation and memory cell formation occur here too?

What else do you guys know about these specific immune responses...because this is reallly ALL that i know, and i dunno if it's good enough.

Thanks so much! I don't know what I would do without you guys =)

For cell mediated: .Helper T cells produce interleukins after binding to the macrophages.
My notes are similar to yours and I can't say they are easy to understand. Can someone give a simplified explanation of each?

Thanks

Hi, I would to add my note. I got some extra note on helper T cell.
Helper T cell are only activated when a foreign antigen is presented together with MHC antigens by macrophage or other antigen presenting cells such as processed antigen on the surface of B cell-- invading particle are bound by B cells. Helper T cell are also stimulated by Interleukin-1( which secreted by macrophage); stimulated helper T cell activates B cell to mature ( so called " Plasma cell"). Now these Plasma cell produce( make) bunch of antibody specifically to foreign antigen.
For cell mediated: .Helper T cells produce interleukins after binding to the macrophages.

Oh, also Helper T cells secret interleukin-2 to activate B cells ( which I mention previously) and cytotoxic T cell. Cytotoxic T cells destroy infected cell by cell-mediated.

I must say thanks to you all. I just joined few days ago. It is great site for reviewing DAT materials. If you ( any of you) find some mis-concept in my response then please let me know.
