I got an unexpected interview to WVSOM which is awesome, but have already been accepted to KCUMB and have scheduled interviews at DMU and CCOM. Correct me if I am wrong, but the tuition is around 50k a year right? The school looks nice, but I have a hard time justifying in my mind the expenses of traveling out to the interview. Most importantly, 50K without living expenses seems like ALOT of debt to take on (compared to 37K at KCUMB, CCOM, and only around 30K at DMU.) Do they offer a lot of scholarships to students? Does anyone know about scholarships offers at DMU, CCOM, and KCUMB (I regret not asking this on the interview day and have thought about calling them)? Do the schools normally make scholarship offers soon after your acceptance? Personally, I think all of the schools would work for me and I am interested in graduating with as little debt as possible.

Thanks for the input 😀

i think that you would be surprised what your impression of wvsom would be after you interview. on the way there, i was regretting my 5 hour drive, but on the way home, all i could think of was how amazing it was. it was the hardest school for me to withdraw from. though the tuition is high, cost of living is cheaper than at most places.

anyway, i think it'd be worth it.

ditto. I felt like every preconception was wrong. When I declined my acceptance in favor of CCOM, it was really difficult. Great faculty and facilities. I even loved the countryside, but from a career-minded point of view, I felt that I should be in or near a city. That inevitably was my deciding factor... Chicago and CCOM's clinical rotations beats WV any day of the week.
