Applied to 16 schools (most private)

A few of those schools have a cut-off of 17 for DAT, so I'm retaking it in a few weeks.
Due to all the supplemental apps and some personal reasons, I haven't really studied much, so how well I do really depends on how much I can cram in the next few weeks (iffy)..
I haven't heard back from schools yet, possibly because they are waiting for my retake scores, or most likely because I was in a later batch.
A few of the schools I contacted are saying my application is ready for review and asking me if I would like to proceed or put my app on hold until new DAT scores.. so I'm guessing they're okay with my RC?

What should I do?? I dono whether to have them review my app asap before classes fill up and possibly get rejected cuz of the RC, or to put the app on hold until next month, hopefully somehow do better on the DAT, but get rejected for lack of spots left.

Advice??

Thanks!

i have seen a couple post from people who have a low RC score 14-16 and have gotten interviews at schools i believe someone had a 14 and got 4 interviews your overall scores are very impressive you just have to apply to the proper schools, im not so sure you shold even retake it

Really? oh how I wish! This whole process is killing me lol.. it seems RC is pretty important for many schools.. I wonder if the people you're talking about had really high GPA's or got in at their state school..? ugh, really wish I didn't mess up on that RC *sigh*

My scores are in my signature. I'm doing well so far in the process. PM me!

wat is your bcp and science gpa?

My GPA's are hovering between 3.2 and 3.4, which is why I said 3.3; BCP is highest at 3.4

Low GPA due to bad start in undergrad.. GPA for most recent two years is 4.0+

dude why are you re-taking it? look at my stats below! I now have 6 interviews... dont waste your money and time.
my BCP is 3.3

Dont retake!! just let them give you interview.. If you don't get accepted then retake and apply next cycle. My best friend got accepted with RC 16 to Columbia ..I have seen people retake and sometimes their other scores lower, Your AA and TS are really good. Go for it!!
Good luck

Thanks for the advice guys..
I guess I'm also scared that if I somehow got interviews with my 16 RC, I may not get accepted afterwards because between me and another qualified interviewee, my RC didn't cut it..
Or is it like once you get interviewed they just look at how you did in your interview?
Or like let's say I ended up getting an interview somewhere before taking the DAT, would my application still be affected by the retake?
I just wish these schools would actually answer my e-mails!! 😡 lol

Btw, I can't remember where I heard this, but I heard that you have the option to void your scores at the end of the test... Is this true? Or was it like this before? Or is it not true at all?

No, not at all. You are thinking about the MCAT.

Yeah i was wondering the same thing, if someone with an average DAT gets an interview is he on the same footing as someone with a higher DAT that got an interview

don't retake I mean I had a 15 PAT and got an interview before my retake and I think PAT is pretty important to some schools. I retook my DAT a month ago, I wouldn't retake it now. September is pretty late for a retake cause you have to wait like 3 weeks before schools get your official scores by then it'll be mid october which is kinda late to apply in the cycle unless you plan to make a 23+. I think you have awesome scores man, call up the schools and tell them to take your app off hold and just apply. I have a 20AA now and have gotten 4 interviews. You'll be fine!

I hope so!
I think I will go ahead with my application as is and hope for the best *fingers crossed*
Thanks for the insight everyone!
