If I have a bottle of 1000 mL of sterile saline and a bottle 10,000 unit/mL heparin, how do I make 1000 mL of 70 unit hep?

You want 1000ml of 70 units heparin 70. V1=100ml M1=(1000ml)(70 heparin/1000ml)=10000 H/ml *X= x= 70H/10000= .007 Liters. So, You're going to take .007L Liters of 10000 H/ml and then add enough saline to bring the total volume to 1 L.

10000*v1=(70/1000)*1000

v1 = 70/10000 ml

70/10000 ml heparin + rest ml saline
