Disadvantage to Applying More than Once - Please Help

I apologize if this is a redundant question, but I was wondering if there was a disadvantage to applying more than once.

I am waiting to retake the MCAT (got a 29T ...unfortunately, GPA is low - 3.2) and decided that I'll probably just wait until 2009 to retake and apply. Lately, however, I've been thinking on applying to a few schools on a whim - UC Davis, UC Irvine, and the school in OR and HI. I don't actually think I'll get in, but at this point I thought why not...the worst that could happen is I'm in the same situation that I'm in now.

Unless of course this would be frowned upon ... any opinions, suggestions, comments, etc? It would be appreciated...

It might not necessarily be a disadvantage, but just keep in mind that when you apply again next year, most secondaries will ask you if you've applied to med school previously and you're going to have to explain why you withdrew.

It also depends on where you live, in florida you might have a chance on getting in. So I mean give it try and hey you could just get in, not only on the bases of your score but you EC's and Essay also. Good LUCK! 🙂
