Disadvantage/Underrepresented Status or Not

Am I consider "disadvantage"

I am south Asian, my dad works at gas station. He makes 25,000 an year. I belong to family of 7. We all renting one townhouse for last eight years. I don't have health insurance since I came to United States, its been eight years now. I am going to school through Stafford loan, grants and couple scholarships.
underrepresented in medicine: no; you are not african american, native american, mexican or mainland puerto rican.

financially disadvantaged: if you feel your financial background has been a disadvantage/hindrance to your education, acquiring relevant medical experiences, etc, there is a spot on the application for you to fill out (plus on some secondary apps). try and apply for a fee assistance waiver through FAP, too.

If you want to be considered as "disadvantaged" then make the case for yourself on the AMCAS application. If you designate yourself as disadvantaged, then you make the case, using their criteria. Look at the instructions for completing the application. "Disadvantaged" is explained there. The same criteria is largely used for dental. Start getting your explanation ready.

I can apply to Howard and Meharry dental schools?

anyone can apply.. it's illegal to discriminate based on race.
however, read their mission statement if you are going to apply. you have to have strong reasons for attending, as both schools are somewhat selective. it helps if you have ECs where you demonstrate that your goals and experiences make you a good fit (want to served underserved populations) for the schools.
