So I'm filling out a supplemental application and of course the disciplinary action question came up. 2 years ago I was charged with a noise violation in my dorm and there was a charge on alcohol but that was dropped due to the alcohol being unrelated to me. The issue is that on my disciplinary record it shows that while I was charged with the noise violation, it also displays that I was not charged for the alcohol. So far I've been stating that it was just the noise violation that I was charged with but I'm wondering if I actually need to explain the alcohol...though it says I'm not held responsible in anyway. Thanks for the advice!!!

I don't think the question is about noise complaints or any other disciplinary action unique to your dorm life. I think its about illegal mistakes that would show up on a background check (DUI or maybe an underage (law-enforcement involvement))

Well it specifically pertains to in school stuff, not exactly misconduct in greater society like a DUI

Look up what they are classified as under your state law. MIP's are a violation in my state and I received one my first year of college. Didn't mention it anywhere and it didn't show up on my background check. If its a misdemeanor, report it. If not, just forget about it.

My friend,

It does not matter. People get noise violations. People also drink in college (even when they're under 21!). Dental students are people. So are ADCOMs. No school is going to give you a hard time for such a minor infraction (except for maybe a few of the religious ones or what have you).

It wasn't a DUI. It wasn't vehicular homicide under the influence.

Just tell the truth. I had similar 'infractions' on my AADSAS and never had a single school ask about them during my interviews. Except for one guy: he mentioned how he likes to have a few drinks himself.

This isn't earth-shattering stuff. I'd wager that a few people at admissions wouldn't mind knowing that you're an applicant who actually leads a social life. Or at least that's the impression I'd gotten.

not charged, so dont mention alcohol. also make it clear that noise was not from your schools institution, but rather from res life

You're screwed! The schools will think you're one of those loud noise makers and will disrupt your classmates from studying. Mind as well find a new profession.
