Hey! I've been lurking around for a while. Must say this forum is very helpful so I've decided to join!

For volunteer hours, how should we distribute them on our application? For example let's say I've volunteered for two years at a local hospital and I currently have about 300 hours total. If I were to divide 300 hours by 104 weeks, that would give me only about 3 hours a week. The reason why I have only 300 is due to finals, breaks, sickness, and also the program I'm in is broken into two time periods / yr with 4 weeks of no volunteering in between. The days I do go in, I'm in about 4 hours/week, but across two years and with all the breaks, it only amounts to 300 hours and not 400 that would have resulted if I went in every single week. So given this, how many hours a week should I put for the application? 4 hours/week or 3 hours/week? On one hand I'm concerned I don't have enough total hours for 2 years on the other hand, I'm sure everyone takes breaks, sick leaves, and skip out during finals/vacation.

You have more hours than most do when they apply. It would be most correct and true for you to list 3 hours/week, with the correct first and last date. In the narrative portion, give the total hours.
