I am planning my schedule out for Step I (it seems yesterday, I was worrying over the MCAT! Time flies!), and I realised I needed a course to help me integrate information/keep me focused (hence the DIT).

I would love to hear your input on my schedule to see if I need to add or take things off. My test date is June 18th (6.5 weeks - I am a slow person - I need more time than others typically)

So far, I have done half of UWorld and read the explanations. I think I will keep going until the end of the year (May 1st)

May 3rd - May 25th - I was planning on doing 3 weeks of DIT with annotating FA alongside with 50 UWorld questions/day. I keep a UWorld journal of major concepts/things I missed, so I will just add to that. This will put me at May 25th/May 26th with Sundays off.

Until June 6th - The next ten or so days I was hoping to do 50 pages of FA along with finishing UWorld (100q/day).

The last 10 days - redo UWorld again (2.5 times at this point) and focus on rereading all of FA primarily the last week.

I will integrate NBMEs as I go as a check point. I realized it's probably easy to burn out, so I am taking Sundays completely off and integrate gym time everyday.

How does this sound? I am not planning on going into super competitive surgical specialities. I have my sight set on ER (for now anyway), but I would like to have a shot at schools in Chicago/LA/Seattle/Boston, etc.

Goal: 225-230
Current UWorld percentage prior to any formal review: 58% (approximately 1200 questions done)

That's really similar to my plan, and I'm aiming for a 230-235. I started DIT part 2 yesterday, and am currently scheduled for June 1st and 5th (though I might move it back a few days). I'm a little worried DIT is going to take me longer than I originally thought. Yesterday I did the first 9 videos and it took me 7 hours to get the little details to stick. I had originally planned on doing a block of UWorld and a block of COMBANK everyday, but I think I'll only have time for UWorld.

My only thought would be maybe you might want a bit more time for DIT, or at least have a few lag days at the end incase you need extra time. Personally, I think you're better off doing DIT until June 6th with 50 questions per day. If you're already half way done with UWORLD you should definitely be able to finish it by then with 1 set a day.

Also, I think NBMEs are really important for preventing burnout on the test day so definitely make sure to do those like 1/week or 1/2 weeks starting in May.

Thanks for the input!! I was actually hoping to redo the questions I did in UWorld so far the first half of my study period (in which time, I will hopefully be done with DIT/first pass of FA). Use the last half of my study period to do the questions I didn't do yet and going through FA again.

That's what I was worried about - I wasn't sure if I would be able to get through 11 videos/day and a set of UWorld. I do have Sunday's off every week.

Are you using Pathoma? I am hoping to do 12 chapters before my study period begins (I have done several already) and do a couple chapters during my study period. So far, Pathoma has been a God send.

my schedule is very similar (taking usmle june 1) and I'm scared because I don't think I"m gonna be able to finish Uworld. I've only done like 20% of the questions and DIT takes me a LOT longer than I thought. It HAS been helping with making concepts stick but I don't know how I'm going to get through everything at this pace.

I also am using pathoma. I used it along with classes this year and I'm gonna go back through it the last 1-2 weeks of May

Agreed, Pathoma is a God send. I used it in conjunction with class material throughout the year and annotated it into first aid. I can't decide if I'm going to go through it again, I'm not sure if I'll have enough time.

TBH I'm not sure it's the end of the world if you don't finish UWorld unless it is all you are using. I think you're better off spending quality time doing fewer questions than freak out get this done time doing more without learning; obviously somewhere in the middle is best.

I have heard that whatever you do, make sure to know all of UWorld really well. And I have also heard people doing ok without that much UWorld

You guyzzzz! We will be fine. If we spend 3.5 weeks doing DIT/half of UWorld. We will still have like 2.5 weeks (3 for me) left to do the rest of UWorld and go through FA again. It will be fine!

Are there any major differences in DIT 2015 vs. 2014? Thanks!

Update: definitely behind schedule. I thought I would be done with DIT in the next two-three days. I probably won't be done until the end of the months. Pushed my date to June 22nd. Slowly, but surely progressing through the days!!! Hope you guys are plugging away!
