Hey, I am trying to decide whether DIT 2012 is worth it or not. Heres a few things you should know about me: I have pretty much no structure to my studying, I just do whatever I feel like I remember I suck at that day. So like yesterday, I felt I forgot the Neuro pathways, so I reviewed that, but in reality I'm pretty deficient in so many things, they just don't come to mind. Anyways, my COMLEX is scheduled June 22, with my USMLE lurking a few weeks afterwards but my main concern is doing well on the COMLEX right now. That gives me a little bit under a month to prep. I took the COMSAE Form A and scored a 477 on it. I was happy I passed, but not a score I would be happy with on the real thing. I want to get a 550+.

I am wondering if you guys think its too late to start DIT, which I would start basically tomorrow and if I followed the 15 day schedule, I would be done on June 9th, giving me from the 9th-21st to go through FA once, and do about 100+ Combank questions daily. I can only see my score going up from the 477, but do you think its worth the time and effort? I know I will stick to the plan and be done the 9th. Now, I wouldnt be asking you guys if I wanted to hear a 'I think its up to you' type of answer, so if you guys could speak from personal experience or anything, I would appreciate it... Thanks guys!

Disregarding the issues of money involved, what do you guys think? The main thing here is, for people that don't have structure, is this a good solution? I know its tiring but I need to change something.

Well here is my story...take it for what its worth:

I started board studying in around January. I had already bought the DIT program with the intention of doing it a few weeks right before boards. When the time came to do DIT ( so a few weeks ago), I had already completed 3 qbanks, and read through a review book for nearly every subject, and read through first aid a few times.... So I started DIT.. basically watching it the entire time in 1.5x speed. I had already been through these things so many times, I started to feel like I should just focus on my weak areas.. so I quit at 75% completion.

So in my opinion, it depends on where you are at in the game.. If you need help getting through first aid, go for it. But if you feel like you have already mastered first aid and the basics, I'd say you can do without.

I am almost through the program now and I can say it should give you what you're looking for (structure). I think they do a really good job of explaining things and focusing on high yield topics. I think for what it sounds like you're looking for it would be a good option.

I can say this much, I've done 50% of UWORLD (started from scratch, so my %s were low but they've been slowly increasing) and about 100 questions on COMBANK. I have not done a full first pass of FA at all, so I think I am definetly leaning towards completing the DIT program. I've already done one day and its just a great review. I speed up through what I know and I slow down/pause stuff that I really need to learn.

Thanks for the input. I think I will stick with DIT.

It's definitely not too late for you to start DIT. If anything, it's exactly the right time. They recommend doing the 15-day schedule over 3 weeks with two off-days every week, but if you only had one break day after every five days, then you can finish the whole thing in 18 days. After you finish DIT, you only need another 5-6 days for one final review before the test. It's good not to wait too long to take the test after you finish DIT, since you might start forgetting some of the key minutiae that they cover.
