Should I be transferring all the information covered in DIT that is not in the First Aid book? Are the primer videos for DIT helpful or will it be fine to go on to part 2? Thanks in advance!

Perhaps you should only annotate FA with uWORLD info and maybe Pathoma on topics that you feel weak and like to have better explanations (ie. MOA)... I don't know about the new DIT, but last time I checked they basically re-read FA and make a couple connections for you (which eventually your going to make on your own with uWORLD).

First of all, anyone who has actually finished DIT will know that they don't just read FA. They connect things from different areas of FA together and really highlight the "must know" information. And they will explain stuff in FA as well.

I wrote down stuff from DIT into FA. Not sure how helpful it was because the amount of information in FA is already overwhelming. Also, I thought the primers were useless, but I really liked part 2 of the course. Quite honestly, at the end of the day, if you can even learn the information in FA, that itself is impressive.

I never did the adding uworld informatino to FA. I thought it would be too time consuming a process to find the relevant FA page and writing stuff down. Instead I used to just make anki cards for uworld information separately.

I used the DIT 2014. It does more than just read it to you. They add some stuff that is not in FA as well. I wrote it down into my FA. Some of it is helpful I think. For UW, I just mark questions I need to review for later. That way I do not have to waste all the time writing it into FA. I am not a note taker anyway.

The only Primer videos I used were for the biostats. Can never hurt to get more teaching on that. UW also has a separate part for that you can buy as well. I think I am prepared for that section finally. Now, I just have to remember Biochem and Micro. 😡

I think for a program that basically is supposed to follow FA, it would be a waste to go through it and not annotate your FA along the way. Plus the way I look at it is, you are most likely going to use FA for review and it always helps to have your review resources as consolidated and comprehensive as possible to cut down on the amount of stuff you have to go through.

yes you should annotate

I did DIT 2013..i annotated in some sections pretty heavy like Biochemistry and Neuro, I'm weak in both. But other sections where I knew a lot more about what they were talking about then i didn't annotate much.

I can tell you that i annotated ALOT of uworld though lol - best LEARNING tool for the step

I only wrote down what was NOT written in First Aid

Alot of times I would prefer to annotate in the DIT study guide as opposed to First Aid bc many times the FA pages are so dense and packed together that adding details are pretty much impossible / lead to messy pages.

I know consolidating sources into 1 is important but you can also try to go thru DIT one time with the videos and annotating then right after you finish do a quick run thru with the DIT Study Guide and transfer the most important points over if you dont plan on using the study guide anymore
