Would like to ask if these are okay topics or just simply meh.
1. The type of research that Im doing is not common. It’s definitely wet lab stuff but a specific field that requires a ton of funding and narrow expertise. Given that Ive published several papers from this field/lab, could I count it as a mode of diversity? I would like to bring these skillsets with me to schools that are especially heavy on research.
2. So from commuting from home to work, they are located at two ends of the SES spectrum. Work is located in a notoriously bougie hood while my home is at the other end. Through most of my life, I feel like Ive witnessed and experiences both realms either thru work or ECs etc. These have made me more aware and cognizant of barriers etc. Can I talk about this?
