Does anybody have any experience with the Diversity in Vision Research program sponsored by the NIH. I am interested in ophthalmology and unfortunately, my medical school does not have an ophthalmology department. Do you think it would be better if I do research at my medical school to something tangential to direct ophthalmology research or is it better to do this program? I am a first-year medical school student trying to figure out what to do during my summer research.
