I am going to be doing a DIY post-bacc in a major city with many academic institutions. I am interested in getting involved with a research lab but unsure of how to go about this since I won't be enrolled in a formal program. Should I find professors with interesting projects via faculty webpages and cold email asking to volunteer in their labs? Any advice would be appreciated.
