I am currently in the process of applying to CCOM/DMU. At the end of this school year I will be only one class away from graduation. If I am accepted to CCOM, will my acceptance be denied because I lack one class?

On CCOM's website, it says you need a minimum of 90 credit hours.

If this is the case, is it alright for me to just go to Midwestern without graduating from undergrad?

How does DMU consider this situation?

I dont know of any body here that does'nt have at least a BS/BA. Call the admissions dept and ask.

You can't pick that class up over summer session sometime?

I believe almost every medical school says you only need 90 semester hours minimum, but that really doesn't fly too well with the statistics.

Take that class during summer or take it in your spring semester (the upcoming one). It would be a real waste to sit out a year just because of one class.

From the websites I've read, they do expect you to finish your degree by the time you matriculate. If they accepted you already, but you're still short by the time you're going to matriculate, they could dismiss you. Best way to find out is to call them and ask.

My problem is that the class I need will not be offered until the fall of 2006. So basically I'm going to be super pissed if I get into med school but I cant go because my damn university doesn't offer the requirements.

I would take the class at another school but they require the last 60 hours of credit to be taken at the university.

I wouldn't recommend trying to apply to med school when you won't be finishing your degree by the time you would matriculate. How many credits do you need for a degree? At my school it was around 130.

The situation you described above because if you didn't have your requirements then you wouldn't be accepted. The required classes for medical school are all basic sciences. Aren't these offered every semester or close to it?

All the schools I was accepted to told me I must have my degree completed by the first day of classes. The 90 credit thing is only under special circumstances and would require the school to know you were not planning to finish before they accept you.

Woah..our school needs minimum of 180 units to graduate..

but anyways..DMU seems to be pretty strict about their requirement...but call them, they're buncha nice people who seem to care

You need to have a Bachlors Degree before you marticulate here at DMU. Look on the website under early accepctance.

Take that class at onter univeristy and grab an extra class over next sem or summer to get the last 60 hrs at your home Uni.

I actually came to dmu without a bachelor's degree after my junior year, but they have a special agreement with my undergrad that my 1st year at dmu would transfer back to there like I was at an extension of the campus. So I graduated from undergrad last may and finished up my first year at dmu, but I only took classes at dmu. I'm not sure if your school works like that so just call admissions and talk to them about it. I would assume if you need one more class take it in the summer and you should be good to go.
