Hey, everyone.....
Just got my per-registar package from school and the list of immunization record scares me. Does everyone keep their record of shots? I wonder how many of you need to retake shots to fulfill the requitement? Gee... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Hello DO class of 2006!

Congrats on your acceptances! I know that you will all be very happy at DMU.

I'm a DO '04 at DMU and will be moving to Tampa for rotations in August. Before then I am selling the furnishings from my apartment here in DesMoines if anyone here is interested. I have posted a complete list in the
"For Sale" section of these forums:

Like I mention in the ad I am happy to e-mail photos of any of the items you might be interested in or arrange for you to come take a look. My contact info is listed at the end of the ad.

Congratulations once again!

Yeah, baby - The KidT is back on the forums! But I never really left. Just 'shadowing.'

As a soon to be 2nd year, I just want to congratulate the incoming students for next year. If you interviewed, chances are you spotted me once or twice marauding around campus, and I want you all to know that I was extremely excited and apprehensive when I got in, but I wan to assure you that there's nothing to be worried about - this school choice is a good one. If you all have any questions, I urge you to ask, and I'm sure Popoy, as always, will answer them before I get back online.

Congrats again!

Yesterday I received our orientation packet containing the $26,000 T-shirt  I tried to log onto our class of 2006 forum, but there was an error message. Has anyone else had any luck with that?

Hiya...First time on here. Gonna be at DMU. I'm looking for an apt and roomie(possibly). From Seattle. big Change for moi. Hopefully...I'll meet some cool peeps at DMU. Say hi.

Hi, Just wondering if people have found their apartment already. I am still looking at the list and have little idea when should I get in town to check it out. Do you think I will be able to find a nice apartment if I go there few days before the orientation? Thanks for any advice.

JP-I already have a taker for my notes :(

DO06-I'm happy to answer any ?'s about des moines and the school-just post it here.

My advice to do06-do not live at 3000 Grand - its very expensive and the management is very strange-save your money for wellman's pub!

Congratulations to all of you 06'ers. As you've been told many times DMU IS as great place. You have a lot to look forward to.

To my fellow classmates of 05... Isn't it great?!! We can now say that we're second years. Congratulations!

Popoy wants old notes... hhmmmmm... you know what mine are like and I'de love to go seperate ways with them. Give me a call, but you'll have to catch me before the 18th... the big move.

My colleagues and my friends,

Congrats on acceptance to DMU. Rest assured that you are in good hands and will all become fine physicians. I can honestly say that I am proud of the program and that it is one that you are allowed to talor where you are and where you would like to be. I managed to maintain a healthy family life and get the career of my dreams. The biggest advice that I wish to lend is that you must realize that you are now in the deep waters of medical training. Get help early if you find yourself falling behind. The problem is not getting out for most but getting in. Our school is known for working with students who have academic or financial problems and graduating many who would have otherwise not been doctors. Be loyal to DMU and she will do the same for you. Don't worry about changes as they are a part of life. Let those people in the departments do their jobs and they will more than prepare you. It may seem sometimes to be more than is needed but believe me you are being given a shallow base, no matter how great the volume may seem, of all that is needed to deal with God's creation. Be ever mindful that we only practice and never perfect thus this abstract practice will never be absolute. Be constructive in you critisism and begin to build bridges with administration that will allow our institution to go forth as the great dynasty it is. If you feel there is a problem do voice it but be mindful that when these are out of context they only tear down all that you are working towards. THE PROGRAM WORKS AND IT WORKS, EVEN WITH ITS DOWNSETTINGS, QUITE WELL. I pray each of you GODS speed and look forward to seeing you at alumni functions in the near future.

Has anyone received there award letter yet? I havent...tired of bugging the office.

I have not too. I contact the office and they said they are working on current students' file and they won't get to the new comers until next month. I guess we just have to wait.
