UGH. This wait is killing me. I go back and forth, doubting my performance and then praising. I feel like I did good enough and then I start looking at houses in other areas because i got rejected. COME ON DMU!!!!! Please send good news my way. Soon.
 
For those who interviewed already, what time does the day end?
 
Interviewed 9/1, just got the email today - I've been waitlisted 🙁
 
IM IN!!!!!!!!!!! OMG. And I'm the one who said my interview sucked (I was grilled) but now I'm SO HAPPY. Gonna start cancelling other interviews ASAP.
 
Congrats to all those who got accepted. Way jealous. Lol. Hopefully I will hear some good news soon. Anyone get accepted with a date later than 9/2? I hope I get to meet more of you next fall.

Have my interview on 10/6! Has anyone stayed with a current student during their interview visit?? The school provided a list of possible hosts, and I just wanted to know if anyone can comment on their experience? thanks!
 
Ok, I bit the bullet and emailed the admissions office. For those who were interviewed on 9/12, they are not anticipating any decision for at least another week.

BOOOOOOOOOO! You know, a smart personn would probably take this information and stop waking up halfway through his sleep to check his email. Or freak out everytime there is a new email on his phone. But, this probably won't change my routine.

Wow. I am a basketcase. If I end up getting rejected, it is going to be crazy embarassing to come on this thread and tell everyone. Lol.

I stayed with a student and it was awesome. she picked me up/dropped me off at the airport, gave me breakfast in the morning and walked me to the admissions office. also it was nice to have a student to hang out with and bounce questions off of. i also had like 4 hours to kill after the interview so it was nice to have someone to hang out with haha.

I had a similar experience with a student host (maybe it was the same one, even). She was very nice and made my stay in Des Moines much smoother.

That's why you have to unsubscribe to groupon, and turn off the data connection at night on your phone. It's been better for my mental health this cycle. 🙂

So in other words, you are not smart :laugh:

I've been wondering: I also interviewed on 9/12 and for some reason I feel like you're the truck driver from some town near Des Moines that starts with a 'J'....is that true? Also, is that your kid saying 'O RLY'? Just curious...I think that short snippet of him/her is hilarious :laugh:

here's to holdin our breath for another week 9/12ers!

I didn't see any parents there the day I interviewed. You might want to call and ask before you bring them.

i am in fact the truck driver, but then again, I was the only one from iowa there that day. your username doesn't really give you away, so I have no idea who you were. if you want to PM me and tell me, awesome. if not, no biggy.

and no it isn't any of my kids. would be way awesome if it was.

GAHH I'm so nervous! My interview is this Thursday, so I'll be flying out of town on Wednesday (tomorrow)! This is my first interview too... but it's my top choice OOS. Dang it!

*deep breath*

I'm okay, whew... lol. I'll definitley be giving this thread a once-over while at the hotel on Wednesday.

Anyone have any quick tips that haven't been mentioned yet? And is anyone else here going to be at the interview on Thursday?
 
Oh I forgot to ask. Has anyone here taken a taxi from the airport to their hotel... and from their hotel to DMU? If so, how much did it cost? And do the taxi's accept credit card or should I carry cash? (I know that some do around the US... apparently it's a "new thing").
 
BAAAAAAA!!! Interview Invite!!! They had this Thursday and Friday avaliable so I took this Friday! I need to start preparing :scared:. OHHHH LERD this is great!

I took a cab from my hotel to DMU and from DMU to the airport. Ran me about twenty bucks (cash) altogether. Have cash. I stayed at the Holiday inn at Drake, so it was pretty close. I think that trip cost about $8. Overall, very reasonable.

COngrats on all the interviews everyone!!

And thanks for the most mtmed. The Hampton is also very close to the airport, and about 15 minutes from DMU (according to google maps).

Did you take your luggage with you to DMU? They let you store it in the administrator's office or somewhere, right? I don't want to look awkward rolling in with my rolly bag trying to find a place to put it... lol 😳

Don't even worry about it--they have a nice big coat room and several people had luggage in there on my interview day. 🙂

What are ur stats? Just keep working hard to improve ur gpa/mcat I have a friend who is on his 3rd time applying to med school and didn't get any interviews his first 2 times (applied only MD) now he's getting success so chin up!
 
ACCEPTED!!! I can't believe this, interviewed on 9/12, email received today at 4:47pm CST.

Hopefully we will hear more good news here.
 
Accepted! Interviewed 9/9.

Do we have to formally accept our acceptance other than paying the deposit by Dec 15th? I don't want to lose my seat because of inaction since I plan on paying the deposit later rather than sooner.
