DMU-COM vs MU-COM

Hello!

I would like some input on choosing between these schools. I'm from NY and would ideally like to return there in the future. I like the location of MU-COM since it is closer to home. It is also in a bigger city which is what I am used to. My worry about MU-COM is that it is still a relatively new school. On the other hand, DMU is well-established and I was impressed with the facilities during interview day.

Are there any big opportunities I would be missing out on if I were to choose one over the other?

Congrats on the acceptances! What score did you end up getting on the MCAT?

DMU seems like a better choice: well-respected, established, proven track record. For a DO school, this is a very respectable match list: https://www.dmu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2017-Match-List-By-Specialty.pdf

Unlike DMU, MUCOM doesn't even publish its match lists for the public. That says something, does it not?

I'd go to DMU. It's so well established and produces grads who go onto really great residency programs. Career wise, it's the smart choice. In terms of where you ultimately end up working, I'd worry about those decisions down the road and make the choice that benefits you most now. Seems to me that that would be going to DMU.
