I know there have been a lot of threads concerning these two schools but I wanted to get some opinions regarding my situation. I'm originally from the east coast so location isn't too much of a factor for me. I can see myself attending either school and living in either city. I'm more concerned with each school preparing me for pursuing a career in general surgery/ortho. This has been my plan all along, and it seems my stats just weren't quite there for landing at a MD school. So I guess my question is does either school emphasize the USMLE more than the other (still considering I'm going to have to take the USMLE and the COMPLEX post-merger)? Are there opportunities for research during the semesters/summers that will allow me to boost my resume come match time? Any questions/opinions would be greatly appreciated!
