Tough decision....DMU or TUCOM???? I'm trying to decide between these two schools. Which school would increase my chances of getting residency in CA and provide me with a good education??

There really is only one thing that will determine if you get a residency in Cali, and that is you. If you do well during the 1st two years and get good board scores, and are not adverse to work your 3rd and 4th years you will get a residency where you want it.

So go to the place you think you will be happiest. Cuz if you are happy you are more likely to achieve the above.

Hope that helps.

If you want to do a residency, and continue to live in California, you might as well go to a school that is either in California or near California.
A big factor in residency training is meeting people early on in your clinical training (3rd and 4th years), esp. in California. Most osteopathic medical students move around quite a bit, moving from state to state. You might as well be close enough to California to get some great rotation experiences in California.

I decided to go to Touro University-Nevada because I won't have to move during my third and fourth years of clinical training. And I can choose to do rotations in California, which is very close to home. If you like moving around a lot during your clinical training, go to DMU. If you want to stay close to California, choose one of the two Touro University campuses.
