DNA dependent DNA polymerase etc ?? plz help

Hey guys,

Does anyone understand the difference between these ? I always get confused on qs

For reverse transcriptase its RNA dep. DNA polymerase = HBV and HIV .
Now isn't there a different way this RT acts for those 2??

Also What is DNA dependent DNA polymerase for??

What about DNA depenedent RNA polymease ? is that all DNA viruses like herpes ?

I know RNA dep. RNA polymerase is for RNA viruses.

so dna dep dna poly=> needs dna to make dna= think genome replication
rna dep dna poly=> needs rna to make dna= think retro viruses

so what would be the difference between DNA dep DNA polymerase and DNA def RNA polymerase.
 
DNA dependent DNA polymerase is just a fancy way of saying DNA polymerase (aka involved in any DNA replication).

DNA dependent RNA polyermase is just a fancy way of saying RNA polymerase (aka transcription).

It's only RNA dependent DNA polymerase that's a bit wonky and that would be the reverse transcriptase (eg taking RNA genetic material and converting it to DNA), which is used by any retrovirus such as HBV (although HBV isn't classified as a retrovirus in the strictest sense since it starts from a double stranded DNA base, but it's basically one step over in the retrovirus lifestyle), HCV, HIV.

what is the way NRTi's acquire resistance?
is it through Reverse transcriptase or thymidine kinase??

I believe it's mutations in reverse transcriptase. I don't believe HIV has a thymidine kinase, but I haven't studied HIV much yet.
