If you get into one school, does this lower your chance of getting into another? Do the schools communicate about their applicants? Kind of like, 'if you take her, then we wont'?

I really don't think so, but I have no reason to believe that other than what I think.

Admission is already too complicated. A given school has hundreds of applicants. They probably don't have the time at the very least.

Really? I've heard that they do communicate. Or at least I've heard that they know which schools you're getting into and partly make their decision based on that. I heard this from a vet who just graduated from Illinois last year. He seemed pretty confident about it, as I think they have students play a part in the admissions process, so I would imagine that even if he didn't, he knew people who did. If you're really interested I can ask him about it, but there's nothing you can do anyway...

You're right... there isn't anything I can do about it. I guess I'll just have to pray and hope for the best . As long as I get in somewhere I'll be 🙂~

schools definitely communicate about your admissions status. i was accepted to oklahoma state before i got into UF (was waitlisted at UF) so i accepted at OK state just to be sure i'd have somewhere to go this year. well, a few days after i got into UF (and said yes yes yes!) OK state contacted me saying "well we see you have accepted a spot at UF...would you like to update us as to whether we should expect you here next year or not?"

i was a little boggled i have to say, i can't see how OK state could have found out about UF unless they communicate or make public the list of students they accept/waitlist.
