Hi, I was wondering if anyone could possibly provide some insight into the DO anesthesia programs. Which ones have been around the longest with established didactics and a good amount of pathology? Any residents out there that want to talk about the pros and cons of their program? Thanks for your help.

Oklahoma State's is in deep doodoo, that's all I know. Don't apply there. They are sliding to a new facility and can not participate in the match per the AOA. They MAY have a scramble spot available for those who strike out in the DO and allo match. This is true for all of OSU's residencies.

To my knowledge there has only been one DO anesthesia resident to have ever posted here, but I can't for the life of me remember who it was and anayways he has not been around here for quite some time.

An ACGME residency and ABA board certification is the "gold standard".

i have some questions

DO programs are not acgme certified?

there are anesthesia programs with residents that are not acgme certified? is an acgme certified program not required to sit for the boards

i have heard of programs losing certification but residents go somewhere else in order to be able to take the boards or so i figured.
