They made my teeth whiter, and more importantly I had one tooth that was a little grey due to an injury 15 years ago and the strips evenned out the coloring.

they do work in my experience 🙂

there's a girl at my school that's sooo hot... she smokes cigs but i don't care... i wanna get with her sooo bad!! she uses the white strips and advices against the use of trays... her teeth are lovely and white but a little crooked... not good enough to pass my requirements for my future spouse!!
There always the paper bag trick...

The crest things definately work. I did my top teeth once but never got around to the bottom and you could tell the difference. I was like a walking advertisement.

I am not surprised that these strips actually work; however, I am not sure how often one needs to reapply them to maintain a desirable result. I tried other products before, but none of them keeps my teeth whiten for more than a few days. It could be that I drink too much coffee, 🙂

I personally don't like the strips...I would sometimes fall asleep with them in...and then my teeth would be in sore for a day or two...and they feel weird...I *personally* like the colgate simply white stuff that you just paste on your teeth...no messy strips...and it definately worked well for me

I agree with Lephisto, I like the colgate simply white. You only need to apply and keep on for a minute or so, and then for best results don't drink or eat anything for an hour. I got the opalescence gel with trays from my dentist, but can't use it on my bottom teeth because it makes them really sensitive. So my dentist told me to get the colgate whitening. From what he told me, you have to apply the OTC stuff more often, but it just as effective for whitening. I don't know if this is true and maybe someone can clarify, but supposedly the whitening from the dentist penetrates deeper into teeth giving a longer lasting whitening effect. Both the strips and paste are probably effective, but I like the paste because after the minute of smiling like an idiot, you can't tell you have it on (although your saliva gets a little thick). 😀

I used colgate simple white before and it gave me sensitivity.
But i dont have that problem with Crest.
And Oral came up with their new product which is very nasty. Dont try if u havent already.

I've never used the strips, but I used the tray from my dentist uncle (got tray for the low low). From what he says, the tray paste is designed to penetrate deeper into the tooth and whiten the entire tooth throughout, and the strips dont penetrate all the way. But with either product, your teeth will begin to darken over a short period of time if you drink a lot of coffee, tea, coke, or just dont brush. I got my teeth good and white about a year ago, and just have to put the tray in every several months to return them to what they were before, cause I drink A LOT of tea. Like every meal. But cost wise, I think the strips are good.

I read an article about some of these products in a trade journal of the dentist I was shadowing. It compared the effectiveness of the Crest Whitestrips, bleaching trays custom made by the dentist, and the Crest Whitestrips Supreme, which at that time were only available through a dentist, but I can almost swear I saw them in a store somewhere recently. They were as effective as the dentist's bleaching trays. Of course, with these "at-home" products, effectiveness is largely dependent on proper placement and usage. The Oral-B 5 day strips were not mentioned (this was early last year, and they weren't available), but I bought some, and agree that they are very effective. The gel is contained in a waxlike film, as opposed to the flimsy Crest strips. This helps in proper application. And, wow, I saw results after only one application for thirty minutes! Don't forget to rinse you mouth for awhile before, though, as this activates the peroxide medium. And, no, I do not work for Oral B 👍

The Supreme version are still only available through a dentist (dental students can order them also), but you might have seen the Professional version, which I believe is in stores along with the regular version.

They for sure work for more than a few days (if you use them as directed and use an entire box), however your teeth will darken again, as they will with any bleaching methods.

Strips users typically have to use a box twice a year in order to maintain the shade they like, although it does vary.
