I've searched but I have not been able to figure out if my grades from my MPH will be seen or have anything to do with my application to residencies. I will not have the degree completed by the time I apply (2/3 will be done).

When I apply to residencies will I submit transcripts of ALL graduate classes (medical school and master's) or will they only be concerned with my medical school stats such as gpa, board scores, etc.

I am not entirely sure what the application process is like, but I know that other factors will affect your match to a much greater extent. the residency application process is not the same as the med school process. I would not expect your MPH grades to hold much weight at all. Step1 and the interview itself will carry 80% of the weight.

No, they will not see your grades from your masters degree (or your bachelors, for that matter). You do enter your educational history of course, but you only submit transcripts from medical school.

I don't think somebody is gonna say, wow you got a B in mph statistics, we can't accept you to the residency. I've seen people get high GPAs in ugrad, and about 3.0 in grad, I don't think they care. If anything, the MPH is going to be a nice profile boost. I am inclined to believe that a grad degree may add a slight boost to your application. I think your med record and test scores are >>>>> than a grad gpa. If anything, a few low marks might make you look like more a researcher (or investigator on the side), or maybe not as challenged (less interested) in traditionally more grade inflated courses.

Thanks for the responses!

Do you have a masters degree and know this for fact? I don't mean to question your credibility or seem annoying... I just need to know for peace of mind! 🙂

No, I don't have a masters. But if you are still concerned about it, then maybe you could shoot an email to your Registrar's office and ask them. They would definitely know the answer about what they submit to ERAS when students ask them to submit their transcripts.

Nobody cares about anything prior to medical school. Your educational history is entered into the application system but only the current transcript from medical school is provided to the app service; nobody will see any of your grades from undergrad or grad school.
