If I take the step 1 first week of December will my score report be delayed because of Christmas/ New Year (since the winter holiday would fall in the 4 weeks it takes to get a score)?

Any chance you know how long it will be delayed? I know you don't work for the ECFMG but in general anyone know how long scores are delayed?

To the best of my knowledge your results might get delayed because of the Christmas holidays.
You are most likely to get the results on the 4th or 5th Wednesday instead of the usual 3rd Wednesday.
Unfortunately for you, both 24th & 31st of Dec are Wednesdays and holidays.
You have to calculate accordingly to get your result on Dec 17th if you want them this year.

Contrary to popular belief, ECFMG is not closed during the first two weeks of January but only Prometric is closed for maintenance of their 20th century computers, 19th century monitors and 18th century headphones.
My suggestion is to email ECFMG to confirm.
