Do Honors projects count as EC?

At my Uni if you are an honors student you have to complete a project each semester for any class, and then you get an indication on your transcript that you completed that class with honors. These projects probably take about 10-20 hrs each semester, and it adds up. They are either review papers or for example a project where you create experiments in Chemistry for HS students.

Do these count as Extra Cirriculars or no?
