do I do a status check?

Hey all...
So, I've got two more outstanding applications (well, 4, but I only care about 2): at JHU and WashU. Now, obviously these are pretty prestigious schools, so the fact that I haven't heard anything from them isn't completely unexpected... but I've gotten interviews everywhere else and have started getting my acceptances... so do I do a status check at these two schools? Or is that completely anal considering the caliber of the schools? Whaddya think?

Call the schools and ask about the status of your application. They don't hit it with a "rejection" stamp if you ask about it. The worst thing that can happen is that they will give you the old "Your application is under review and we will notify you when your status changes".
