I don't have any extracurriculars, however I have a meat grinding licence from a community college (took that after highshcool).

Yes, you have a very very good chance of getting in.
I advise you to apply to ALL the schools across the country though. It may cost a little bit, but it will make your already high chance even higher.

Btw. do make sure that you put down that meat licence from a technical college on your resume. It will definately suffice as an alternative to extracurricular actvities (obviously).

As for what you have now, I'd say it's would be near impossible.

You need to:
1. Retake those that you got C- or lower.
2. Do very well on DAT. I am talking 22+.
3. Enroll in SMP and ace it.
4. Apply broadly - private and your state schools. I'd say 20 schools.
5. Do tons of volunteer and community service.
 
Retake the DAT and take more courses to boost your GPA, especially more science courses.
 
wow, I think the upward trend of your gpa is somewhat apparent, but not enough to suffice. I mean, I know a lot of schools don't specifically state their cut off scores for the DATS, but I'm sure the 8 on the QR will kill your application. 😱
 
I think you could get away with applying to just one school - Harvard. You should be fine.

If this is a serious post, then you have quite a bit of work ahead of you. Like someone mentioned earlier, do some post-bacc work, study your butt off for the DAT, and re-take all your classes that were below a C-.

Now, if this post isn't serious...i'll be back...lol...🙂
 
I think you're selling yourself short with dental school. You're clearly cut out for something more special. I suggest you take a whack at astrophysics or perhaps contribute to particle physics. If that doesn't work you'll always have that meatgrinding to fall back on. Smart move!

Well, as for dental school, yourdentisttt doesn't have a very good chance as of now. I would advise:

1) take a year of postbac, lots of science classes and aim for overall 3.5 or above. You've got this upcoming fall and next spring to prep. Not a bad idea at all.
2) retake DAT, aim for 20+ at least.
3) apply very very early with confidence.

It's doable I believe.
 
You have no chance at all. I see that some people have posted ridicuolus replies just to make fun of you. Anyway, to be honest your GPA and your DAT scores are way too low for dental school. To be competitive you need to have GPA of at least 3.5 and DAT score of 20+. Dental schools prefer to take students who have good grades and with 12,000 students applying you stand no chance. So my recommendation is to get your masters and get excellent grades to boost your GPA, and retake your DAT. Get all kinds of materials to prepare you for that test and study like crazy, I mean study like five to six hours a day. You have showed improvment in your grades in your last year, so you can do it if you work hard at it. Also get a dental assiting job and may be do some research . This will give you some background experience in dentistry and help your applicaition. If you are really serious about dental school, then you have to work hard to get there. With the stats you have wright now I would not even apply, save your money.

you had a 3.3 in your best academic year. you'd have a tough time if you had a 3.3 average over 4 years. and to consider that it took you 4 years to get to this point where you are still performing below average... while studying communications. i hope you are a jock who realized that you wont make it pro, because otherwise you just waisted a lot of government/parent money

Cancel all your applications to D-school and all be accountants or something.

I applied to about 20 schools but haven't heard anything from them yet. Do you guys think that I still have some chance left, since I didn't receive any rejection letters?

If you really sent out 20 apps, you would have received 20 rejections letters at the first opportunity the schools had to get them in an envelope. Not all of us are that gullible...

Sorry, but I agree with Luchenko the field goal kicker from Springfield University. Communications is a phony major. That alone ruins any chance you may have had.😀

If your stats are real than no, you have no chance. As far as rejection leters, you will get them soon. Usually dental schools send rejection letters in spring. Dental schools do not accept people with stats like yours.🙁
