I know there must be hundreds of these but I figured I would make my own personalized one. I am currently a junior in Biomedical engineering with a concentration in bio mechanics. I have a 3.9 overall GPA. I did 50 hours of shadowing work in a clinic in Capetown this summer at a HIV/ARV clinic, where I also was able to do some work in the trauma and pediatric unit. During the school year I volunteer once a week at free clinic. I am involved in a number of clubs as well. I also established a mentor program where upperclassmen act as a mentor to freshman and sophomores in my major. I have been involved in a number of volunteer events and I also tutor inner city kids that are behind in math once a week. I also play intramural soccer every year. I am a member of the medical honor society and the new biomedical honor society. Unfortunately, when I was 18 I got an underage drinking ticket but will have that expunged. I also have a speeding ticket that I hope will not be a big deal when I apply but I am not sure? I will be going to Guatemala this spring break to work and volunteer in various hospitals. I have not taken the MCAT yet but I will this spring. Next summer I am also lined up to do 10 weeks of research about cancer cells, and next semester I will also be doing some volunteering in a nursing home as well as hopefully more shadowing.
So basically what i want to know is with these stats, what are my chances of getting in to any of the North Carolina medical schools, or even out of state?
Thanks!
