I am nervous about my DAT scores and was just wondering what my chances of getting an interview would be with these scores

PAT: 18

TS: 18
AA: 18

My Science GPA is 3.6 and I have a lot of shadowing hours (and will continue to get more before I apply) with 3 different dentists, and have a decent amount of volunteering hours, and other extra curricular activities, but the only thing that makes me nervous is my DAT. Was just wondering if I have a decent chance of getting interviews with these type of scores.

If I were you I'd rewrite ASAP. Your DAT could prevent you from achieving much greater success.

It's not what you want to hear, but no you don't. Fortunately it's only April and you can still retake the DAT and have an early application. Good luck!

Retake it asap. Better safe than sorry. Im sure people will say you have a chance, and you do but If you were my best friend I would say retake to be safe. With a 3.6 sGPA im sure you have more potential.

18 would have gotten you in 20 years ago

competition is fierce. i didn't feel comfortable with my 21+ dat score.

One person from my school did not get any interview this cycle with 19AA and 3.4 gpa. You might have a chance getting an interview since your gpa is higher.

Retake. Getting 20 will help you get significantly more interviews than with 18.

I think you have some chances if you chose wisely your schools.. But you can consider retake the DAT this summer.

It's not impossible, but retaking the DAT would significantly increase your chances - I would suggest doing so rather than taking your chances with the current scores.

Yeah I'd say retake that DAT asap. I know that is a good chunk of change, but that is way cheaper than missing a year of practicing

hey this is great to know but I have a 2.3 GPA. can I still go to dental school or should I go into pharmacy?

As is, your scores are very "average". Do you stand a chance? Yeah, you do- if you apply broadly.
But idk if thats a risk you are willing to take. If you have time to retake by July, and still get your app done with in the summer, then go for it. If you don't have the time and got cash collecting dust then give it a shot.

I think you are right in saying you have a good app, besides your DAT. Technically you are fine with an 18, but I would retake if you want to give yourself a better chance. If you could get a 20 I think your App with stick out more.

Also, if you don't retake and do get interviews. Be confident and show them how awesome you are. Interview is the level field where you get a chance
