Do I have a chance of getting into SUNY Downstate?

I have already taken the pre-reqs. I got As and Bs in those. My undergrad GPA is ~3.4 and I majored in psychology. Over the summer I did 8 weeks of volunteer work at an OT kids program in the afternoons. I have been working part-time in an after school learning center for 2 years, also working with kids. I am going in for an interview with Downstate this week and I am so nervous! Do I have a great shot at getting in even though they are only accepting 30 people? 🙁

@missjill- you were invited for an interview so you clearly they are interested in you ;-) From what I understand Downstate takes a lot of things into consideration when making their offers so its hard to say for certain what they are looking for. I personally know someone with a 3.8 GPA who got into NYU AND Columbia and ultimately was rejected at Downstate and someone with a 3.3 who got in! There was a difference in age and hours of observation between the two.

Keep positive and kill it on the interview and I am sure you will have a terrific chance of getting in. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
