I have a non-science B.A. and a GPA of 3.4. I have decided to pursue dentistry. I am planning on taking some of the pre-requisites at a good California community college and then finish them at a formal post-bacc program. I did very well in science classes in the past and am getting straight A's so far in community college. Is it possible to get into a Dental School starting from this position? Anything is possible. But you will have a better indication once you take your DAT.

Definitely possible. Do well on your DAT and you should be fine. Good luck!

You will save yourself many headaches if you don't take your prerequisites at a CC.

It is possible, because I did it with almost the same bachelor's GPA. But there are lots of other factors, like getting a good DAT score, doing your due diligence with shadowing, and writing a strong personal statement. Some schools don't like CC credits, but I found most will accept some CC classes.
