What are my chances at md schools. Mostly state schools like stony brook, downstate, buffalo but also other schools like rush, vcu, drexel. I'll be applying early so I'll have everything in by early june. I don't have the best letters of reccomendation besides a good one from a physician I shadowed and one from a non-science professor. The rest are from science professors I didn't get to know that well but did well in the class.

You have a chance for an interview at all these schools:
All 4 SUNY's
Rochester
Albany
NYMC
Einstein
Mount Sinai
Hofstra
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
VCU
GW
Georgetown
Are you interested in schools outside of the East coast?

Yeah I just don't know which ones. I need to research more which schools are within my range.

Get the MSAR.
Look for OOS privates with a median MCAT around 35-36.
Is that your only MCAT?
Yeah. Do you think I should retake it. Would I have a much better chance if I get a 520+. The main thing I'm worried about are my ec's. Are they good enough.

518 is the 97th percentile!
I certainly would not interview someone who re-took an unexpired 518.
Lol. So would you say I have a shot at md schools like Icahn, yeshiva and stony brook. How can I be more competitive.

Retaking a 518 would telegraph that you make very bad choices and/or are a pathological perfectionist.
