My GPA is 4.0 and I got DAT score of 22. BUTTTTT... I am graduated from a university outside USA without having done any courses in the USA. I am not US permanent resident or citizen and just currently living in new york.
Do you guys think I have any chances of getting into ANY dental school in the US? 🙁 🙁(((
I don't know which schools should I apply in order to have a greater chance... Plzzzz help
😱😳

I too am an international student and I had consulted some schools on this matter....

From what I have gathered, if you have taken the science courses in the past and if those courses are less than 5 years old.. u should be fine...and most of the schools do accept international student..of course the preference does do to in-state students but we do stand a chance....and with your GPA and DAT scores.. I bet u stand a chance...

My advise however, will be to identify schools you want to apply and confirm with them about your science courses and about their international student admission... this can be done by sending them an email..

I hope this helps.

Don't quote me here, but I think one of the biggest requirements for USA dental schools is that you have to have a permanent residency in the USA Because the way they see it is, they don't want you to hold a spot in dental school so that by time you finish, you move back to your home country.

You REALLY need to call up all the schools your interested in and tell them your situation, they can give you better answers.

As far as the pre-reqs go.... They might require you to take your basic pre-dental courses again here in the USA, I know its ridiculous, you have such a high DAT score.... again call up the schools and see what they tell you

You don't have to have degree in the States, but you do need to take pre-requisites in the States. It takes about 2 years. That's what I know. I hope this helps you.
