So do I have to submit my DAT scores through Dentpin as a re-applicant (I took the DAT last year and I am using the same scores)? AADSAS says nothing about having to send your DAT scores and just says you need to make sure your Dentpin and birthday are entered properly. I called AADSAS and they said I don't need to submit, but I called the ADA and they said I do.... Does anyone have some solid info on this? Much appreciated.

anyone have any info?

AADSAS is right. Whether you applied last year or not, as soon as AADSAS dumps in the scores they will link with your DentPIN and birthday, both are basic pieces of info you enter(ed) in your application.

The only reason they wouldn not appear is if you didn't designate any AADSAS participating schools when you registered for your DAT. But I'm sure you did if you applied last year and had no DAT score issues.

My brother-in-law is certain that I have to submit through Dentpin again. lol. There seems to be a lot of misinformation out there. Does it have something to do with unofficial/official scores, I mean, why would one party say I am fine and another say I need to send them? I am still a little nervous about not sending them through Dentpin.

I did find mention of this in the reapplicant faq, saying your dat scores are not transferred. However as a reapplicant you still have your dentpin from last time, which should automatically carry over your scores again. I would simply look at the dat section of your current re application and see if it shows anything, like the date you took the exam etc. you might have to wait for the adea to do their updates.

I also found this on the adea site which contradicts them saying scores aren't carried over:

Q: If I applied last year and my DAT scores were reported to ADEA AADSAS, will I need to have my scores submitted again for the 2012 application cycle?

A: No.  If you had your official DAT scores sent to ADEA AADSAS in the previous 2010-2011 cycle, your scores will be carried over to your application for the 2012 cycle.

And finally, this us from the ada dat guide, page 23 I think you're fine and won't need to do anything!

ADEA AADSAS has implemented a new process that allows re-applicants to import certain information, including DAT scores, from one application cycle into the next application cycle. A re-applicant is any applicant that applied to dental school through the previous ADEA AADSAS application cycle. In addition, a re-applicant's previous application materials must have been completed and mailed to dental schools to utilize this feature. Applicants will need their log-in information from the previous ADEA AADSAS cycle.

Reapplicants that wish to utilize this feature should click on the "Re-Applying to ADEA AADSAS" link on the ADEA AADSAS application home screen and follow the instructions

Good lord, posting from this phone is tedious.

No kidding. I have to go back and fix so many things. Guess I lack accuracy and finess and will thus be a failure in dentistry.

By the way, Mr. Wake, AADSAS hasn't updated scores yet this cycle. Just go put in your date completed and don't worry if nothing shows up yet. It's like that for everyone.

Good luck this cycle!
