Do I include breaks in my activities description dates for the time we were off in 2020 due to COVID?

I recall Cat had a thread for Activities Descriptions questions. I looked for it and didn't see it. Let me know if you know where that is so I can post the answer to this question for the benefit of other students.

When putting dates in, should I put a break in there for the time we were off at the beginning of the pandemic?

Ex: May 2017-March 2020; September 2020-Present.

I feel that could get hard to follow because they would all say something like that with a start date to March 2020 and a resume date somewhere at the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021. At the same time, I don't want to risk doing anything dishonest if "We were off for a few months because of the pandemic" isn't implied for volunteer positions.

Be transparent and make it clear there was a break in the activity involvement. Perhaps use the Repeated feature for AMCAS so the separate date ranges and Total Hours will appear at the top of the Activity space.

You will be in good company among many other applicants with breaks in activities during covid times.
