Do I need an update Letter of Recommendation from PI

Hey guys,

I left my lab last year and got a letter of recommendation from my PI who wrote the letter last year but submitted the letter to interfolio in January in order to allow me to date the letter in 2019. One of the studies I was a part of just got accepted for publication in a well-known journal and the post-doc I worked under included me as a co-author. Do you guys think that I should ask my PI to update my letter of recommendation to include some information about the publication?

Here is the definitive answer: it doesnt matter. Whether he give it to you are not, you are going to apply. Speculating on such an issue is pointless and just creates worry and stress; move on
